Cornell Law School

Cornell Law School is the law school of Cornell University, a private Ivy League university in Ithaca, New York. One of the five Ivy League law schools, it offers four law degree programs, JD, LLM, MSLS and JSD, along with several dual-degree programs in conjunction with other professional schools at the university.

While working at the law school for a year, I held the position of Lead UX Designer. In this role, I utilized my knowledge and skills in UX/UI design, visual design, and front-end development to enhance the user experience of several departments: Communications, Legal Information Institute (LII), Information Technologies, and Cornell eRulemaking Initiative (CeRI).

Another project I worked on was the redesign of the law library and the creation of a new visual identity. For creating a new logo, I began by carefully studying the interior of the library building, as it provided a great deal of inspiration for the new visual identity. From there, I set to work designing a fresh, modern logo that would reflect the essence of the library while also being distinctive and memorable.

The final logo that I created for the law library was the result of an iterative design process. I experimented with various color schemes, typography, and graphic elements until I arrived at a design that captured the spirit of the library.

Here are a few examples of visuals that showcase the hero image content for the homepage  and homepage of the Cornell Law website. These images are an essential element of the website’s visual design, as they serve as a prominent focal point that draws the user’s attention and establishes the website’s overall tone and message. By utilizing compelling hero images and incorporating other visually appealing design elements, the website effectively communicates its message and establishes a strong online presence.
